NDUFA8 Antibody (C-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects NDUFA8 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NDUFA8 (C-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NDUFA8, also known as complex I-PGIV or PGIV, is a crucial 172 amino acid mitochondrial protein that plays a vital role as a subunit of the NADH dehydrogenase complex (Complex I) in the mitochondrial respiratory chain. NDUFA8 is essential for transferring electrons from NADH to the respiratory chain, a process fundamental for ATP production and cellular energy metabolism. NDUFA8 is predominantly expressed in heart and skeletal muscle tissues, where NDUFA8′s function is particularly critical due to the high energy demands of these tissues. NDUFA8 contains two conserved CHCH domains, which are important for structural integrity and function. The gene encoding NDUFA8 is located on human chromosome 9, a region associated with various genetic disorders, including hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia and familial dysautonomia, highlighting NDUFA8′s importance in both normal physiology and disease states.
