NDUFA3 Antibody (B-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects NDUFA3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-NDUFA3 antibody (B-12) is available as the non-conjugated form. NDUFA3, also known as NADH dehydrogenase (ubiquinone) 1 alpha subcomplex, 3 or B9, is a crucial component of Complex I in the oxidative phosphorylation electron transport chain, consisting of 84 amino acids and belonging to the Complex I NDUFA3 subunit family. NDUFA3 serves as an accessory subunit within the multi-protein mitochondrial membrane respiratory chain NADH dehydrogenase complex, which is vital for the transfer of electrons from NADH to the respiratory chain, a process essential for cellular respiration and energy production. The proper functioning of Complex I is critical, as defects in this complex can lead to a variety of mitochondrial diseases and contribute to the aging process. The gene encoding NDUFA3 is located on human chromosome 19, a region known for its high gene density, housing approximately 1,400 genes, including several members of the immunoglobulin superfamily, which play significant roles in immune response and cell signaling.
