NDRG1 Antibody (S-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects NDRG1 in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NDRG1, a member of the N-myc downstream regulated gene family, plays a crucial role in cellular stress responses, hormone signaling, and the regulation of cell growth and differentiation, making NDRG1 vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to environmental changes. NDRG1 is predominantly expressed in placental membranes, as well as in the prostate, kidney, small intestine, and ovary, highlighting NDRG1′s importance in reproductive and developmental processes. NDRG1 expression is notably induced by various stimuli, including nickel, which suggests NDRG1′s involvement in adaptive responses to stressors. Additionally, NDRG1 interacts with several key proteins, including p53 and HIF-1α, which are critical for tumor suppression and cellular oxygen sensing, respectively. NDRG1′s ability to modulate these interactions underscores NDRG1′s potential as a biomarker for cancer progression and a target for therapeutic intervention.

Can sc-100786: NDRG1 (S-7) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-100786: NDRG1 (S-7) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
