NCS-1 Antibody (G-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects NCS-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NCS-1 (G-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NCS-1, also known as neuronal calcium sensor-1 or frequenin, is a member of a highly conserved family of EF-hand-containing calcium-binding proteins predominantly expressed in neurons. NCS-1 plays a crucial role in calcium-dependent exocytosis, facilitating the release of neurotransmitters from synaptic vesicles and dense core granules, which is essential for proper neuronal communication and signaling. Additionally, NCS-1 is involved in the regulation of voltage-independent calcium channels, thereby influencing intracellular calcium levels and synaptic plasticity. NCS-1 localizes to neuronal cell bodies and axons throughout the brain and spinal cord, and expresses in glial cells and neuroendocrine cells, underscoring NCS-1′s importance in both neuronal function and neuroendocrine signaling.
