Natural Killer Cell Antibody (H25) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Natural Killer Cell protein (NK) of human origin by immunoprecipitation (IP). Natural Killer Cell (H25) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NK cells are crucial components of the innate immune system, originating from bone marrow and characterized by their large granular appearance. These lymphocytes play a vital role in the immune response by identifying and eliminating cells that have been infected by pathogens, particularly viruses. NK cells exert cytotoxic effects through the release of specialized proteins, including perforin and granzymes. Perforin forms pores in the membranes of target cells, facilitating the entry of granzymes, which are serine proteases that induce apoptosis in the infected cells. This process is essential for controlling viral infections and preventing the spread of pathogens within the body. Notably, individuals with deficiencies in NK cell function are at a significantly higher risk for severe infections, such as those caused by the herpes virus, underscoring the importance of these cells in maintaining immune health.
