Nap1 Antibody (D-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Nap1 protein of Saccharomyces cerevisiae origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Nap1 (D-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Nap1 protein plays a crucial role in cell cycle regulation, particularly in G1 to S phase transition, where Nap1 interacts with cyclin-dependent protein kinase Cdc28 and G1 cyclins Cln1, Cln2, and Cln3. Such interaction ensures cells only proceed to DNA synthesis when adequately prepared. Nap1 is also essential for Clb2 function, a cyclin involved in G2 to M phase transition, facilitating specific mitotic events and transition from polar to isotropic bud growth. Nap1′s ability to modulate these critical processes underscores Nap1′s importance in maintaining cellular integrity and function, making anti-Nap1 antibody (D-2) an invaluable tool for researchers studying cell cycle dynamics in yeast.
