Na+/K+-ATPase α1 Antibody (F-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody designed to specifically recognize the Na+/K+-ATPase α1 subunit, also known as the Sodium-Potassium pump, of human origin. Na+/K+-ATPase α1 monoclonal antibody (F-2) targets an epitope mapping between amino acids 54-76 near the N-terminus, ensuring accurate detection of the protein in various applications. Na+/K+-ATPase α1 is a crucial membrane-bound enzyme located in the plasma membrane, responsible for maintaining the electrochemical gradients of sodium and potassium ions by actively transporting three Na⁺ ions out of the cell and two K⁺ ions into the cell using ATP hydrolysis. This protein undergoes important post-translational modifications, including glycosylation, which are essential for proper folding, stability, membrane localization, and functional activity. Glycosylation of the β subunit is particularly important for the correct assembly and insertion of the α1 subunit into the plasma membrane, while phosphorylation events regulate activity and interactions with other cellular proteins. Na+/K+-ATPase α1 (F-2) antibody is recommended for use in western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), demonstrating broad reactivity with Na+/K+-ATPase α1 from mouse, rat, human, and monkey, as well as additional species including ovine, porcine, and canine. This extensive species reactivity makes Na+/K+-ATPase α1 (F-2) monoclonal antibody an invaluable tool for researchers studying ion transport mechanisms, cellular homeostasis, and related pathophysiological conditions. Understanding the post-translational modifications of Na+/K+-ATPase α1 is crucial for elucidating its role in maintaining cellular functions and involvement in diseases such as hypertension, cardiac dysfunction, and neurological disorders. Na+/K+-ATPase α1 (F-2) antibody is an essential reagent for advancing scientific research into the complex regulation and function of this pivotal membrane protein.
