QUICK LINKS

N,N′-(1,2-Dihydroxyethylene)bis-acrylamide is a reversible cross-linker for polyacrylamide gels which produces a gel that is soluble in dilute (2%) periodic acid at room temperature for 1-2 hr. Useful when recovering protein from polyacrylamide gels. N,N′-(1,2-Dihydroxyethylene)bisacrylamide finds use in diverse scientific fields, encompassing applications such as electrophoresis, tissue engineering, drug delivery, and serving as a non-toxic substitute for hazardous cross-linking agents. Moreover, in tissue engineering, it serves the purpose of cross-linking cells and fabricating three-dimensional scaffolds.
