MYPT1 Antibody (C-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MYPT1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MYPT1 (C-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Myosin phosphatase target subunit 1 (MYPT1), also known as the Myosin-binding subunit of Myosin phosphatase, plays a crucial role in regulating the interaction between actin and myosin, which is essential for muscle contraction and cellular movement. MYPT1 is primarily localized on stress fibers, where MYPT1 is strategically positioned near the cell membrane and at cell-cell contacts, allowing MYPT1 to effectively modulate myosin phosphatase activity in response to various signaling pathways. MYPT1 is regulated by phosphorylation, particularly at Tyrosine 654 by myotonic dystrophy protein kinase, which influences myosin light chain phosphorylation and smooth muscle contraction. MYPT1′s phosphorylation state is critical, as MYPT1 determines the sensitivity of smooth muscle to calcium, thereby impacting vascular tone and blood pressure regulation. MYPT1 interacts with protein phosphatase 1 catalytic subunit (PP1c) at multiple binding sites, highlighting MYPT1′s integral role in the phosphatase complex. A Sp1 transcription factor binding site in the MYPT1 promoter suggests MYPT1 functions as a housekeeping gene, maintaining essential cellular functions.
