Myotrophin Antibody (F-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Myotrophin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Myotrophin is a crucial cytoplasmic protein that plays a significant role in the differentiation of cerebellar neurons, particularly granule cells, which are essential for proper cerebellar morphogenesis and function. This 117 amino acid protein translocates to the nucleus during sustained activation of nuclear factor kappa B (NFκB), highlighting Myotrophin′s involvement in cellular signaling pathways that regulate gene expression in response to stressors. Myotrophin is characterized by an acetylated N-terminus and contains two internal ankyrin repeats, which are important for protein-protein interactions and may influence functional dynamics. Myotrophin has been associated with cardiac hypertrophy, as Myotrophin can induce the expression of protooncogenes, including atrial natriuretic factor (ANF) and β-Myosin heavy chain, particularly under conditions of cyclic stretch or inflammatory stimuli such as tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα) and interleukin-1β. The highest expression levels of Myotrophin are found in the brain, while the lowest levels are detected in skeletal muscle, underscoring Myotrophin′s specific roles in neuronal and cardiac tissues.
