Myotrophin Antibody (F-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects Myotrophin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Myotrophin is a crucial cytoplasmic protein that plays a significant role in cellular signaling, particularly during sustained activation of the nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NFκB) pathway, which is vital for various cellular responses, including inflammation and stress. Myotrophin is predominantly located in the cytoplasm but can translocate to the nucleus, highlighting its dynamic role in cellular processes. Myotrophin is composed of 117 amino acids and features an acetylated N-terminus along with two internal ankyrin repeats, which are essential for protein-protein interactions and may influence its function in cerebellar morphogenesis and cardiac hypertrophy. Myotrophin has been shown to increase the expression of protooncogenes such as ANF and β-Myosin heavy chain, linking Myotrophin to cardiac remodeling and hypertrophic responses. Myotrophin expression is notably upregulated in myocytes subjected to cyclic stretch or treated with pro-inflammatory cytokines like tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα) and interleukin-1β, indicating Myotrophin′s involvement in stress responses. Highest levels of Myotrophin are found in the brain, while skeletal muscle exhibits the lowest expression, underscoring Myotrophin′s tissue-specific roles and potential implications in neurological and cardiovascular health.
