Myosin-neonatal Antibody (N1.551) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects Myosin-neonatal protein of mouse, rat, human, and rabbit origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-Myosin-neonatal antibody (N1.551) is available as the non-conjugated form. Myosin is a critical motor protein that plays a vital role in muscle contraction and various cellular movements, including cytokinesis and phagocytosis. Myosin consists of a hexamer formed by four light chains and two heavy chains, with each heavy chain being approximately 2000 amino acids long. The heavy chains contain distinct N-terminal and C-terminal domains that adopt a coiled-coil configuration, allowing Myosin to form bipolar filaments that interact with actin filaments. This interaction generates the force required for muscle contraction, coupled with ATP hydrolysis. In vertebrates, multiple classes of Myosins exist, including both muscle and non-muscle types, with neonatal Myosin specifically characterized by fast-type light chains. Understanding Myosin′s structure and function helps elucidate muscle development mechanisms and muscle-related disease pathophysiology.
