SEE ALSO...

MYH Antibody (TH81) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody specifically designed to detect the cardiac myosin heavy chain protein, also known as MHC, or myosin heavy chain, in human, rat, and rabbit tissues. Raised against myosin heavy chain of rabbit origin, anti-MYH antibody (TH81) is validated for use in immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) applications, and is recommended for the detection of myosin light chain in rabbit tissues. The cardiac myosin heavy chain is a critical component of the sarcomeric thick filaments in heart muscle fibers, playing a central role in muscle contraction by interacting with actin filaments to generate force. There are two main isoforms in the heart, MYH6 (alpha-myosin heavy chain) and MYH7 (beta-myosin heavy chain), which are differentially expressed and contribute to cardiac performance. Post-translational modifications of the myosin heavy chain, such as phosphorylation, glycation, and oxidative modifications, can alter cardiac muscle contractility and responsiveness to physiological stimuli. Dysregulation of these modifications has been implicated in cardiac diseases such as cardiomyopathies and heart failure. By enabling accurate detection of the myosin heavy chain, MYH monoclonal antibody (TH81) facilitates detailed analysis of cardiac muscle structure, function, and pathology. Anti-MYH antibody (TH81) is recommended for researchers investigating cardiac muscle physiology, adaptation, and disorders.
