Datasheets
  • MUTYH Antibody (C-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 κ MUTYH antibody, cited in 3 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against amino acids 182-225 mapping within an internal region of MUTYH of human origin
  • recommended for detection of MUTYH of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • m-IgGκ BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for MUTYH Antibody (C-6) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with MUTYH Antibody (C-6) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGκ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

SEE ALSO...

MUTYH Antibody (C-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects MUTYH protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MUTYH antibody (C-6) is available as the non-conjugated form. MUTYH, also known as mutY homolog (E. coli), plays a critical role as a DNA glycosylase mismatch repair enzyme, which is essential for maintaining genomic stability by correcting adenine residues that are mispaired with either oxidized (8-hydroxyguanines) or non-modified guanines. This process prevents mutations that can arise from oxidative DNA damage, a common issue in cellular environments exposed to reactive oxygen species. MUTYH (C-6) antibody helps detect MUTYH presence in neurons, where MUTYH helps protect mitochondrial genomes from oxidative stress throughout the lifespan of mammals. Multiple N-terminal splice variants of MUTYH in mammalian cells suggests a complex regulatory mechanism that may adapt MUTYH function in response to cellular conditions. Biallelic germ-line mutations in MUTYH are linked to an increased risk of colorectal adenomas and carcinomas, highlighting MUTYH significance in cancer biology. Increasing levels of MUTYH in A549 cells subjected to oxidative stress enhance cell survival, further emphasizing MUTYH protective role in cellular health.
