Muskelin Antibody (C-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Muskelin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Muskelin antibody (C-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Muskelin, also known as MKLN1 or TWA2, is a 735 amino acid protein located in both the nucleus and cytoplasm, playing a crucial role in mediating cytoskeletal responses and facilitating cell spreading in response to Thrombospondin 1, an important extracellular matrix glycoprotein. Muskelin is essential for maintaining cellular architecture and promoting cell adhesion, which are vital processes in tissue development and repair. Muskelin forms a CTLH complex with RMND5A, Ran BP-M, and TWA1, and exists as two alternatively spliced isoforms, highlighting functional diversity. Additionally, Muskelin serves as an isoform-specific anchoring protein for the prostaglandin EP3 receptor, and includes one LisH domain, a CTLH domain, six Kelch repeats, and an N-terminal discoidin-like domain, which allows for self-association through a head-to-tail mechanism. Human and mouse Muskelin share 98% amino acid sequence homology, with respective genes located on chromosomes 7q32.3 and 6 A3.3, underscoring evolutionary conservation across species.
