MTSS1 Antibody (M7-P3A7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MTSS1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MTSS1 antibody (M7-P3A7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MTSS1, also known as metastasis suppressor 1, MIM, MIMA, or MIMB, is a 755 amino acid protein characterized by one Actin-binding WH2 (Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome protein homology-2) domain and one IMD domain. MTSS1 is expressed in a variety of tissues, including testis, thymus, prostate, spleen, colon, uterus, and blood, and plays a crucial role in binding to Actin, which is essential for maintaining cytoskeleton dynamics. This interaction influences cellular processes such as migration and adhesion, thereby impacting carcinoma progression and metastasis in various organs. When expressed at normal levels, MTSS1 functions as a tumor suppressor, but overexpression can lead to abnormal actin structure formation, potentially resulting in tumorigenesis. Additionally, three MTSS1 isoforms exist due to alternative splicing events, which may contribute to functional diversity and regulatory mechanisms in cancer biology.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with MTSS1 (M7-P3A7): sc-101390 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
