SEE ALSO...

Mts1 Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Mts1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Mts1 (A-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Mts1 gene encodes a small acidic calcium-binding protein, Mts1 (also known as S100A4, calvasculin, or metastasin), which belongs to the S100 family of proteins. Mts1 primarily resides in cellular cytoplasm and nucleus, playing a crucial role in regulating cell motility, proliferation, and apoptosis. Mts1 localization becomes particularly significant in cancer, contributing to tumor progression and metastasis. Nuclear translocation of Mts1 enables interactions with various nuclear proteins, influencing gene expression and cellular stress responses. Mts1 cooperates with p53 tumor suppressor protein, enhancing p53-dependent apoptosis, potentially leading to p53 function loss in tumors and contributing to aggressive cancer phenotypes. Increasing Mts1 serum levels with age suggest a potential role in promoting tumor progression through mechanisms including angiogenesis.

I am using Mts1 (A-7): sc-377059 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
