MTGR1 Antibody (CBF5I134) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects MTGR1 in human samples through western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP) applications. MTGR1, also known as CBFA2T2, is a crucial nuclear protein encoded by the human CBFA2T2 gene and plays a significant role in hematopoiesis and tumor suppression. MTGR1 is characterized by a unique structure, which includes one MYND-type zinc finger and one TAFH domain, allowing MTGR1 to interact with various transcription factors and regulatory proteins. MTGR1′s structural integrity is vital for function within the RUNX1/AML1-ETO/MTG8 chimeric protein complex, which is associated with acute myeloid leukemia due to chromosomal translocation t(8;21). By repressing RUNX1-dependent transcription, MTGR1 contributes to the regulation of cell growth and differentiation, making MTGR1 a potential tumor suppressor candidate in myeloid tumors, particularly those with deletions in the 20q10-13 region. Furthermore, MTGR1′s ability to form both homo-oligomers and hetero-oligomers with MTG8 underscores MTGR1′s importance in cellular signaling pathways. Notably, the deletion of CBFA2T2 has been identified in approximately 10% of polycythemia vera cases, highlighting MTGR1′s relevance in hematological malignancies. With broad expression in both fetal and adult tissues, MTGR1 is a key player in understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying myeloid tumorigenesis.
