SEE ALSO...

MTAP Antibody (42-T) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MTAP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MTAP antibody (42-T) is available as a non-conjugated antibody. The 5′-Deoxy-5′-methylthioadenosine phosphorylase (MTAP) protein plays a crucial role in polyamine metabolism and the salvage pathways for adenine and methionine, which are vital for cellular growth and function. Located in the cytoplasm, MTAP is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating polyamine levels, which are important for cell proliferation and differentiation. The gene encoding MTAP is situated on human chromosome 9p21, closely linked to the tumor suppressor gene p16INK4A, and MTAP deficiency is often observed in various cancers due to the co-deletion of both genes. This loss can lead to increased susceptibility to malignancy, as cells lacking MTAP may be more vulnerable to growth-inhibitory agents, such as antifolates, that exploit the adenine salvage pathway. Using MTAP monoclonal antibody (42-T) in research can provide insights into MTAP′s role in cancer biology and potential as a therapeutic target.

I need to use an antibody to detect the protein in samples of equine origin. Do you know if this mouse monoclonal antibody will work?
