SEE ALSO...

MTA2 Antibody (F-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MTA2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MTA2 (F-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MTA2, also known as Metastasis Associated 1 Family Member 2, plays a crucial role in gene expression regulation and is a key component of the nucleosome remodeling and histone deacetylation (NURD) complex. This complex is essential for ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling and transcriptional repression, as MTA2 facilitates repressor protein recruitment to chromatin, thereby influencing cellular processes such as differentiation and proliferation. MTA2 shares significant homology with MTA1, possessing similar functional domains that contribute to cancer progression. MTA2 expression levels can serve as a biomarker for assessing malignancy in cancers such as breast and colorectal carcinoma. MTA2′s ability to modulate chromatin structure and gene expression underscores MTA2′s importance in both normal cellular function and disease states, making anti-MTA2 antibody (F-9) a valuable tool for researchers studying cancer biology and epigenetic regulation.

I am using MTA2 (F-9): sc-55566 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
