SEE ALSO...

MRP2 Antibody (M2 III-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects MRP2 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). Anti-MRP2 antibody (M2 III-6) is available in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile applications in research. MRP2, also known as canalicular multispecific organic anion transporter (cMOAT), plays a crucial role in the excretion of various organic anions and drugs from hepatocytes into bile, thereby contributing to the detoxification processes in the liver. MRP2 is predominantly localized to the apical membrane of hepatocytes, where high expression is essential for maintaining proper bile flow and preventing the accumulation of potentially harmful substances. MRP2 functionality is particularly important in the context of drug metabolism and resistance, as MRP2 helps regulate the levels of therapeutic agents and their metabolites in the body. Dysregulation or impairment of MRP2 can lead to significant clinical implications, including drug-induced liver injury and altered pharmacokinetics of various medications. Understanding MRP2 expression and function is vital for developing strategies to overcome multidrug resistance in cancer therapy and for optimizing drug delivery systems.
