MRP-S27 Antibody (A-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MRP-S27 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MRP-S27 (A-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MRP-S27, also known as mitochondrial ribosomal protein S27 or S27mt, is a crucial component of the mitochondrial ribosome′s small subunit (28S), consisting of 414 amino acids and characterized by the presence of two pentatricopeptide repeats. MRP-S27 plays a vital role in mitochondrial protein synthesis, which is essential for proper functioning of mitochondria, the cell′s powerhouses. MRP-S27 is predominantly localized in mitochondria and is highly expressed in tissues with significant energy demands, such as skeletal muscle and heart. The gene encoding MRP-S27 is located on human chromosome 5, which spans 181 million base pairs and comprises nearly 6% of the human genome, with notable associations to various genetic disorders. Deletions on the p arm of chromosome 5 can lead to Cri du chat syndrome, while alterations on the q arm are frequently observed in therapy-related acute myelogenous leukemias and myelodysplastic syndromes. MRP-S27′s interaction with other mitochondrial ribosomal proteins underscores its importance in maintaining mitochondrial function and cellular energy metabolism.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-390396 P appropriate for?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
