MRP-S23 Antibody (D-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects MRP-S23 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MRP-S23 (D-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MRP-S23, also known as mitochondrial ribosomal protein S23 or HSPC329, is a crucial 190 amino acid protein that plays a vital role in mitochondrial protein synthesis by forming part of the 28S ribosomal subunit. MRP-S23 localization within the mitochondrion enables translation of mitochondrial mRNA into functional proteins, which are critical for maintaining mitochondrial function and energy production. MRP-S23 gene is located on human chromosome 17, a region notable for association with key tumor suppressor genes such as p53 and BRCA1, highlighting potential implications in cancer biology.
