MRP-L10 Antibody (E-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects MRP-L10 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MRP-L10 (E-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MRP-L10 protein, also known as 39S ribosomal protein L10, mitochondrial or MRPL8, is a crucial component of the mitochondrial ribosome, consisting of 261 amino acids. MRP-L10 plays a vital role in mitochondrial protein synthesis, which is essential for oxidative phosphorylation, a process that generates ATP, the energy currency of the cell. MRP-L10 is one of the 70 proteins that make up the mitochondrial ribosome, all encoded by the nuclear genome, highlighting the intricate relationship between nuclear and mitochondrial functions. MRP-L10 undergoes deacetylation in a NAD+-dependent manner by the enzyme SIRT3, a modification significant for the regulation of mitochondrial protein synthesis and cellular metabolism. MRP-L10 gene is located on human chromosome 17, a region rich in genetic information, comprising over 2.5% of the human genome and associated with key tumor suppressor genes such as p53 and BRCA1, underscoring potential implications in cancer biology and therapeutic research.
