    SEE ALSO...

mPRδ/γ Antibody (B-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects mPR delta / gamma protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). mPR delta / gamma (B-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. mPR delta / gamma protein plays a crucial role in mediating progesterone′s effects, which is essential for various reproductive processes, including oocyte maturation resumption. mPR delta / gamma protein operates through a nongenomic signaling pathway, binding to progesterone and subsequently inhibiting adenylyl cyclase, leading to decreased intracellular cyclic adenosine monophosphate levels. mPR delta / gamma protein also activates mitogen-activated protein kinase, vital for signal transduction influencing cellular responses. mPR delta / gamma protein belongs to a larger membrane progestin receptor family including five distinct groups—α, β, γ, δ, and ε—each with unique tissue distributions in reproductive, neural, kidney, and intestinal systems. These characteristics distinguish membrane progestin receptors from traditional nuclear progestin receptors and suggest functional similarity to G-protein coupled receptors, highlighting their significance in reproductive biology and as potential therapeutic targets.

For western blotting with this antibody, would it be better to block the membrane with milk and BSA or just milk prior to adding the primary antibody?

    Asked by: sp15
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking and diluting in 5% milk with TBS-T. You can find our recommended protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting

What application is the blocking peptide sc-514273 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
