MP1 Antibody (H-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MP1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MP1 (H-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MP1, also known as MEK partner 1, plays a crucial role as a scaffolding protein within the mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase signaling pathway, which is essential for cellular responses to growth factors. By binding to the proline-rich domain of MEK-1, MP1 enhances the phosphorylation of MEK-1 by the activating kinase B-Raf, thereby facilitating the activation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) 1. This interaction is vital for the specificity of the MAPK pathway, as MP1 preferentially associates with MEK-1 and ERK 1, while showing no affinity for MEK-2 or ERK 2. Such specificity is important for ensuring that appropriate cellular responses are triggered in response to various extracellular signals, highlighting MP1′s significance in regulating cell growth and differentiation.
