MMP-1 Antibody (3B6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody designed to detect human matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) protein, also known as interstitial collagenase, fibroblast collagenase, or collagenase-1. MMP-1 monoclonal antibody (3B6) targets the amino acid region 366-376 of human MMP-1 protein, ensuring precise binding and reliable detection across various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MMP-1 plays a critical role in degrading extracellular matrix components such as collagen, gelatin, fibronectin, laminin, and proteoglycans, which is essential for processes like tissue remodeling, wound healing, and angiogenesis. By breaking down these matrix proteins, MMP-1 facilitates cellular migration and invasion, making MMP-1 a key player in both normal physiological and pathological conditions, including cancer metastasis and rheumatoid arthritis. The regulation of MMP-1 is intricately linked to cellular signaling pathways, where p53 downregulates MMP-1, highlighting MMP-1′s importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing excessive tissue degradation. MMP-1 requires calcium and zinc ions for catalytic activity, which is characteristic of the matrix metalloproteinase family. Additionally, MMP-1 works in concert with other metalloproteinases, such as MMP-9 (gelatinase B), to degrade bone collagens and may contribute to osteoclastic bone resorption. Anti-MMP-1 antibody (3B6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing flexibility for diverse experimental needs.
