MLH1 Antibody (B-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MLH1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MLH1 (B-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MLH1 plays a crucial role in the DNA mismatch repair (MMR) pathway, which maintains genetic stability by correcting errors during DNA replication. Deficiencies in this pathway, often due to mutations or epigenetic silencing of MMR genes like MLH1, are linked to various cancers, including hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC), where pathogenic mutations in MLH1 significantly increase the risk of colorectal and other cancers. MLH1 is expressed in various tissues, including lymphocytes, heart, colon, breast, lung, spleen, testis, prostate, thyroid, and gall bladder, and MLH1 expression is often lost in several cancer types, leading to microsatellite instability and a mutated phenotype.
