MKP-2 Antibody (F-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects MKP-2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MKP-2 (F-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MKP-2, also known as MAP kinase phosphatase 2 or dual specificity protein phosphatase 4 (DUSP4), plays a critical role in regulating mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway, which is essential for various cellular processes such as growth, differentiation, and apoptosis. MKP-2 is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where MKP-2 acts as a dual specificity phosphatase, specifically dephosphorylating both threonine and tyrosine residues on MAP kinases ERK 1 and ERK 2. This localization is crucial as MKP-2 effectively modulates kinase activity in response to extracellular signals, thereby influencing cellular responses to stress and growth factors. MKP-2 is regulated by transcription factor E2F-1, which binds to MKP-2 promoter and enhances expression, linking MKP-2 to pathways involved in cell cycle regulation and apoptosis.
