MICAL3 Antibody (3A6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects MICAL3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MICAL3 antibody (3A6) is available as the non-conjugated format. MICAL3, also known as microtubule associated monooxygenase, calponin and LIM domain containing 3 or KIAA1364, is a 976 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in cellular processes by localizing to both the cytoplasm and the cytoskeleton. MICAL3 contains one LIM zinc-binding domain and one calponin-homology domain, which are essential for interactions with other proteins. Notably, MICAL3 utilizes flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) as a cofactor to interact with Rab 1B, a small GTPase involved in intracellular transport, and this interaction is believed to be significant for spermatid development. MICAL3 expression in various tissues highlights its ubiquitous presence and potential involvement in multiple biological pathways. Additionally, MICAL3 exists as two alternatively spliced isoforms, and MICAL3 gene is located on human chromosome 22, which is associated with several genetic disorders, including Phelan-McDermid syndrome and schizophrenia.
