mGluR-1a/b Antibody (1F7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects mGluR-1a/b protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-mGluR-1a/b antibody (1F7) is available as a non-conjugated format. mGluR-1a/b protein, also known as metabotropic glutamate receptor 1, plays a crucial role in the central nervous system by mediating synaptic transmission and plasticity, which are essential for learning and memory processes. mGluR-1a/b is primarily located in the postsynaptic membrane of neurons, where mGluR-1a/b interacts with various intracellular signaling pathways, including the phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. Proper functioning of mGluR-1a/b is vital for maintaining excitatory neurotransmission and modulating neuronal excitability, making mGluR-1a/b a significant target for research into neurological disorders such as schizophrenia and anxiety. Additionally, mGluR-1a/b can form homodimers, which may influence signaling capabilities and interactions with other proteins, further underscoring mGluR-1a/b′s importance in neurobiology.
