SEE ALSO...

MFG-E8 Antibody (H-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MFG-E8 of mouse origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MFG-E8 Antibody (H-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MFG-E8, also known as Milk fat globule-EGF factor 8 or Lactadherin, is a 387 amino acid peripheral membrane protein that plays a crucial role in cell adhesion and signaling. MFG-E8 is primarily located on mammary epithelial cell membranes and is abundant in human breast milk, where MFG-E8 encapsulates lipids and serves as a marker for differentiated carcinomas. MFG-E8 contains one epidermal growth factor-like domain and two F5/8 type C domains, which facilitate interaction with integrins, specifically Integrin β5 and Integrin β3. This interaction is vital for processes such as gamete binding and cell attachment, highlighting MFG-E8′s potential role in fertilization and apoptosis. MFG-E8 has been shown to bind to rotavirus, inhibiting viral replication and providing a protective effect against infections. Notably, overexpression of MFG-E8 has been linked to breast cancer, suggesting involvement in tumorigenesis and making MFG-E8 a significant target for cancer research.

Are there any issues with using sc-377356: MFG-E8 (H-3) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-377356 conjugates.
