Meis2 Antibody (63-T) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Meis2 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Meis2 antibody (63-T) is available in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile applications in various experimental settings. Meis2, a member of the TALE (three amino acid loop extension) family of homeodomain-containing proteins, plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression during development and adult hematopoietic differentiation. Meis2 (63-T) antibody recognizes a protein essential for forming heteromeric complexes with Hox and Pbx proteins, which enhances DNA binding affinity and specificity. This interaction is vital for proper tissue patterning and cellular differentiation, as Hox proteins, including paralog groups 1-10, are essential for regulating developmental processes. Meis2 expression can be altered in various leukemias, highlighting its significance in both normal physiology and disease states. In the pancreas, Meis2 preferentially associates with Pbx1, forming a complex that interacts with the pancreas-specific homeodomain factor Pdx1, thereby repressing Pdx1-induced transcriptional activation. This regulatory mechanism underscores Meis2′s importance in maintaining proper gene expression patterns in pancreatic development and function.

Can sc-81986: Meis2 (63-T) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-81986: Meis2 (63-T) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
