Eotaxin and the monocyte chemotactic proteins, MCP-1–5, form a subfamily of the C-C (or β) chemokines, which are characterized by a set of conserved adjacent cysteines. MCPs are produced by a variety of cells, including T lymphocytes, subsequent to their activation with cytokines such as IL-1, TNFα and IFN-γ. In vitro studies have shown that the MCP isoforms exhibit their chemotactic effects on different subpopulations of lymphocytes. MCP-1 is a potent basophil activator but does not affect eosinophils. MCP-1 levels are increased during infection and inflammation, which are both characterized by leukocyte infiltration. Two MCP-1 receptors, which differ in their carboxy-termini, have been identified.

Which secondary antibody can I use? Because I didn't find secondary antibody for rat IgG1. In your company just this antibody can use for checking mouse MCP-1.
Thank you very much!

Thank you for your question. MCP-1 Antibody (ECE.2) is a rat monoclonal IgG1. We recommend using any secondary antibody that is anti-rat IgG. Unfortunately, we do not currently offer any secondary antibodies anti-rat IgG at this time. Please check back for updates in the future!

I am using MCP-1 (ECE.2): sc-52701 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?
Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here:
