SEE ALSO...

MCP-1-4/eotaxin Antibody (B-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MCP-1-4/eotaxin of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MCP-1-4/eotaxin (B-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Eotaxin and the monocyte chemotactic proteins (MCPs) 1 through 4 form a subfamily of the C-C (or β) chemokines, which are distinguished by a conserved pattern of adjacent cysteine residues. These proteins play a crucial role in the immune response, particularly in the recruitment of leukocytes to sites of inflammation. Notably, MCP-1, also known as CCL2, is a potent activator of basophils and is involved in the inflammatory response, with levels significantly increasing during infection and inflammation. MCP-1′s ability to attract monocytes and other immune cells is vital for mounting an effective immune response, as this action helps ensure swift responses to pathogens or injury. Additionally, MCP-1 interacts with two distinct receptors, CCR-2 and CCR-4, which mediate effects on various immune cell types. Understanding the function and mechanisms of MCP-1-4/eotaxin is essential for developing therapeutic strategies targeting inflammatory diseases and conditions characterized by aberrant leukocyte recruitment.

Can MCP-1-4/eotaxin (B-2): sc-377082 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, MCP-1-4/eotaxin (B-2): sc-377082 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from okay antibodyI tried this antibody in the ratio 1:1000 to detect CCL2 in NHBE whole cell lysate and luckily we got a band around 12kDa for the first time. But after that we tried in Beas2b cell lysate and again in NHBE lysate too but we couldn't see the band. Maybe it will work only in freshly prepared antibody so its not a user-friendly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from only for WBwe do human samples stimulated by IL1B, and we see spicific band at 11kD, and also there is a none spicific band at 40kD. But we do not consider it could do IHC-P.
