MCM7 Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects MCM7 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MCM7, a member of the mini-chromosome maintenance (MCM) protein family, plays a crucial role in the regulation of DNA replication, ensuring that DNA is replicated only once per cell cycle. This is vital for maintaining genomic stability and preventing over-replication, which can lead to genomic instability and cancer. MCM7, along with other MCM proteins, contains an ATP-binding motif that facilitates the opening of double-stranded DNA in an ATP-dependent manner, a key step in the initiation of DNA replication. MCM7 expression peaks during the transition from the G1 to S phase of the cell cycle and is influenced by E2F transcription factors and various protein kinases. MCM7 interacts with other MCM proteins to form a complex that exhibits DNA helicase activity, essential for unwinding DNA strands during replication. Anti-MCM7 antibody (G-7) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying cell cycle regulation, DNA replication mechanisms, and the implications of MCM proteins in cancer biology.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with MCM7 (G-7): sc-46687 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
