    SEE ALSO...

MCC Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MCC protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MCC antibody (A-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MCC protein, also known as MCC1, is a coiled-coil protein primarily localized in the cytoplasm and plays a crucial role in cell cycle regulation. MCC protein is involved in negatively regulating cell cycle progression during G1 to S phase transition by modulating NFκB signaling pathway. MCC protein interacts with NFκB inhibitor, IκBβ, which is essential for stabilization, thereby preventing nuclear translocation and signaling of NFκB. Such interaction suggests MCC protein may function as a tumor suppressor, as proper regulation is vital for maintaining normal cell cycle dynamics. MCC protein undergoes phosphorylation, and phosphorylation state varies throughout cell cycle, indicating activity may be tightly controlled by post-translational modifications. MCC protein is highly phosphorylated during G1 to S phase transition, while exhibiting lower phosphorylation levels in G0/G1 phase. Overexpression of MCC protein has been shown to decrease cells entering S phase, further underscoring significance in cell cycle control and potential implications in cancer biology.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with MCC (A-9): sc-398216?

    Asked by: Professor Griffin
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
