MC4-R Antibody (C-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects MC4-R of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MC4-R (C-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. MC4-R, a member of the melanocortin receptor family, plays a crucial role in regulating energy homeostasis and appetite control, making MC4-R a significant target for research in obesity and metabolic disorders. Located primarily in the central nervous system, particularly in the hypothalamus, MC4-R is involved in signaling pathways that influence feeding behavior and energy expenditure. Proper functioning of MC4-R is essential for maintaining body weight and metabolic balance, and dysregulation of MC4-R has been linked to obesity and related health issues. Understanding MC4-R interactions and signaling mechanisms can provide insights into potential therapeutic targets for weight management and metabolic diseases.
