MASP-3 Antibody (CD450) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects MASP-3 in human samples through western blotting (WB). MASP-3, or MBL-associated serine protease 3, plays a crucial role in the innate immune response by modulating the activity of the complement system. MASP-3 is an alternatively spliced product of the MASP-1 gene, sharing the heavy/A chain with MASP-1 while possessing a distinct light/B chain. This unique structure allows MASP-3 to potentially inhibit the activity of MASP-2 by competing for binding to mannose-binding lectin (MBL), thereby regulating the activation of the lectin pathway of the complement system. The ability of MASP-3 to fine-tune the immune response is vital, as MASP-3 helps prevent excessive inflammation and tissue damage during pathogen invasion. By understanding the function and interactions of MASP-3, researchers can gain insights into the mechanisms of immune regulation and the development of therapeutic strategies for immune-related disorders. Anti-MASP-3 antibody (CD450) is an essential tool for studying these processes in human samples.
