    SEE ALSO...

MAP1D Antibody (B-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MAP1D protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MAP1D antibody (B-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MAP1D, also known as methionyl aminopeptidase type 1D or METAP1D, is a 335 amino acid mitochondrial protein that plays a crucial role in protein maturation by removing methionine from the N-terminus of nascent proteins, a process essential for proper protein functioning. MAP1D′s enzymatic activity is particularly important in cellular stress responses and has been implicated in tumorigenesis, with elevated expression observed in colon cancer cell lines. MAP1D binds two cobalt ions per subunit, which is vital for enzymatic function, and is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 2q31.1. This chromosome contains over 1,400 genes and is associated with various genetic diseases, including Harlequin ichthyosis and Alström syndrome. MAP1D′s interactions with other proteins and involvement in critical cellular processes make MAP1D a valuable target for research in cancer biology and mitochondrial function.
