MAP-4 Antibody (G-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects MAP-4 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MAP-4 (G-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MAP-4 plays a crucial role in the assembly and stability of microtubules, which are essential components of the cytoskeletal network. Microtubules are vital for various cellular processes, including maintaining cell shape, enabling intracellular transport, and facilitating cell division. MAP-4, a non-neuronal microtubule-associated protein, contains three 18-amino acid repeats that are homologous to those found in other microtubule-associated proteins. This structural feature allows MAP-4 to interact with tubulin and other MAPs, thereby promoting microtubule assembly and stability. MAP-4 is predominantly expressed in tissues such as kidney, lung, liver, testis, and spleen, where MAP-4 contributes to the organization and dynamics of the microtubule network during critical cellular events, including interphase and mitosis.
