SEE ALSO...

MafF/G/K Antibody (D-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MafF/G/K protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MafF/G/K (D-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MafF/G/K protein plays a crucial role in gene expression regulation as a member of the small Maf family of basic region/leucine zipper (bZIP) transcription factors, which form heterodimers with larger tissue-restricted subunits like p45, a component of NF-E2. This interaction is vital for transcriptional regulation of erythroid-specific genes, essential for proper red blood cell development and function. MafF expression is particularly prominent in the lung, where MafF compensates for loss of function mutations in MafG and MafK, ensuring maintenance of critical physiological processes. Small Maf proteins, including MafF, MafG, and MafK, are implicated in various developmental and physiological roles, highlighting their importance in cellular responses to stress and differentiation. Using anti-MafF/G/K antibody (D-12) in research can provide valuable insights into complex regulatory mechanisms governing gene expression and functional dynamics of the Maf family in different biological contexts.

Is this a new version of anti-MafK antibody (C-18)? I need an antibody antiMafK and CHIP grade. Does this antibody work for my purpose?

Asked by: flyingcat
Thank you for your question. This mouse monoclonal antibody, MafF/G/K (D-12): sc-166548, is currently the suggested replacement antibody for the now discontinued goat polyclonal (C-18) antibody. This is not raised against the exact same antigen. We have not yet tested this antibody for use in ChIP, and we are not aware of any publications citing use of the antibody for ChIP. For a limited time, we are offering a free 10 µg sample of this antibody. Please contact our Technical Service Department if you would like to test the antibody before placing your order. Please call us toll-free at (800) 457-3801 option 2, e-mail <scbt@scbt.com>, or use the live chat on our website.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-166548 X be used instead of the standard form sc-166548?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
