Datasheets
  • MA2 Antibody (B-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 λ MA2 antibody, cited in 1 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 121-149 of MA2 of human origin
  • recommended for detection of MA2 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • m-IgGλ BP-HRP (mouse IgGλ binding protein-HRP) is the preferred secondary detection reagent for MA2 Antibody (B-8) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with MA2 Antibody (B-8) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGλ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

SEE ALSO...

MA2 Antibody (B-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects MA2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MA2 antibody (B-8) is available as the non-conjugated form, which is crucial for research into paraneoplastic neurological disorders (PNDs), rare syndromes linked to underlying neoplasms such as testicular and lung cancers. MA2 protein, also known as onconeuronal antigen MA2, is primarily localized in the nucleolus of normal cells but exhibits a distinct expression pattern in tumor cells, where MA2 protein translocates to the cytoplasm. This change in localization is significant as MA2 (B-8) antibody may play a role in the immune response against onconeural antigens, contributing to the neurological damage observed in PNDs. The MA family of paraneoplastic antigens includes three members: MA1, MA2, and MA3, with MA2 being particularly important due to MA2 protein expression in both brain and testis, highlighting MA2 protein potential as a biomarker for certain cancers. Understanding MA2 protein function and localization can provide insights into the mechanisms of tumorigenesis and the development of targeted therapies.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-390762 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
