LYPLA2 Antibody (B-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects LYPLA2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LYPLA2 (B-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. LYPLA2 protein plays a vital role in the hydrolysis of lysophospholipids, which are critical components of biological membranes and act as signaling molecules in various physiological processes. These lysophospholipids, when dysregulated, can contribute to the pathogenesis of several diseases, including hyperlipidemia and atherosclerosis. LYPLA2, along with its homolog LYPLA1, is localized in the cytoplasm and belongs to the AB hydrolase 2 family, where LYPLA2 enzymatically cleaves fatty acids from S-acetylated cysteine residues on substrates such as H-Ras. The regulation of lysophospholipid levels by LYPLA2 is essential for maintaining cellular membrane integrity and function, and LYPLA2 dysregulation may lead to significant health issues. Both LYPLA1 and LYPLA2 are expressed as multiple alternatively spliced isoforms across various tissues, highlighting their importance in diverse biological contexts.
