LUCA15 Antibody (G-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects LUCA15 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LUCA15 (G-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. LUCA15 plays a crucial role in RNA binding and is part of an evolutionarily conserved family of RNA binding proteins, which also includes DEF-3. Both proteins are highly expressed in adult heart and thymus, as well as in fetal kidney, while expression is significantly lower in fetal thymus and adult kidney. LUCA15 presence in these tissues suggests involvement in critical developmental processes and cellular functions, particularly in gene expression regulation through RNA interactions. Notably, LUCA15 contains two zinc finger motifs, a bipartite nuclear localization signal, and two RNA binding motifs, which are essential for RNA binding and nuclear transport functions. Human LUCA15 and DEF-3 genes are located on chromosome 3p21.31, a region associated with deletions in small cell lung cancer, highlighting potential implications in cancer biology and importance as a biomarker for certain malignancies.
