LRP Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects LRP in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LRP, also known as the major vault protein (MVP), plays a crucial role in the multidrug resistance (MDR) phenotype observed in tumor cells, which often leads to treatment failure in cancer therapy. LRP is primarily located in the cytoplasm and is a key component of multimeric ribonucleoprotein complexes that transport untranslated RNA along cytoskeletal tracks, highlighting its importance in cellular transport mechanisms. LRP presence in various multidrug-resistant cancer cell lines and clinical samples underscores its significance in mediating drug resistance, potentially through its transport functions. Additionally, LRP has two alternative splice variants, with the long-LRP isoform being ubiquitously expressed across many normal tissues, which may influence its functional roles in both health and disease. The unique structural features of LRP, including its TATA-less promoter and specific binding sites, further contribute to its regulation and expression, making anti-LRP antibody (E-2) an essential tool for researchers studying drug resistance mechanisms in cancer.
