LMCD1 Antibody (F-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects LMCD1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LMCD1 (F-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. LMCD1 protein, also known as dyxin, is a 365 amino acid member of the LIM domain protein family, which plays a crucial role in cell differentiation and growth. LMCD1 is highly expressed in skeletal muscle and features an N-terminal cysteine-rich domain along with two LIM domains in its C-terminal region. These LIM domains facilitate essential protein-protein interactions, particularly in the nucleus, where LMCD1 represses GATA-6′s ability to bind DNA by forming a non-functional heterodimeric complex. This repression is critical for regulating gene expression in heart and lung tissues. Upon translocation to the cytoplasm, LMCD1-GATA-6 complex dissociates, allowing GATA-6 to activate transcription of various genes. LMCD1 gene is located on human chromosome 3, a region associated with Marfan-like connective tissue disorder and Moyamoya disease, indicating potential involvement in the pathogenesis of these genetic conditions.
