LMCD1 Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects LMCD1 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LMCD1, also known as dyxin, is a 365 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in muscle development and cellular differentiation. LMCD1 is characterized by its unique structure, which includes an N-terminal cysteine-rich domain and two LIM domains at the C-terminus, both of which are essential for mediating protein-protein interactions. The presence of these LIM domains allows LMCD1 to interact with various transcription factors and structural proteins, facilitating movement between the nucleus and cytoplasm. In the nucleus, LMCD1 represses GATA-6′s ability to bind to DNA by forming a non-functional heterodimeric complex, thereby regulating gene expression critical for heart and lung tissue development. Upon translocation to the cytoplasm, this complex dissociates, allowing GATA-6 to activate transcription of target genes. The gene encoding LMCD1 is located on human chromosome 3, a region associated with Marfan-like connective tissue disorders and Moyamoya disease, indicating potential involvement in the pathogenesis of these genetic conditions. With significant roles in cellular processes and disease associations, anti-LMCD1 antibody (C-3) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying muscle development and related disorders.
