liver FBPase Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects liver FBPase in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). liver FBPase Antibody (G-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Fructose-1,6-bisphosphatase (FBPase) plays a crucial role in carbohydrate metabolism by catalyzing the conversion of fructose-1,6-bisphosphate into fructose 6-phosphate and inorganic phosphate, a key step in gluconeogenesis. This enzymatic activity maintains glucose homeostasis, especially during fasting states, and responds to allosteric effectors such as AMP, which inhibits FBPase activity, influencing metabolic pathways that govern energy production and storage. The liver isoform of FBPase consists of four identical subunits, and mutations in the FBP1 gene can lead to enzyme deficiency, resulting in serious metabolic disorders such as hypoglycemia and metabolic acidosis. Understanding FBPase function and regulation remains essential for exploring metabolic diseases and developing potential therapeutic strategies.
