Lipocalin-1 Antibody (H-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Lipocalin-1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Lipocalin-1 antibody (H-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Lipocalin-1, also known as tear lipocalin or von Ebner′s gland protein, is a secretory protein predominantly found in fluids that cover epithelial surfaces, such as tears and respiratory secretions. Lipocalin-1 plays a crucial role in stabilizing the lipid film of human tear fluid by effectively removing harmful lipids from the corneal surface and transporting them to the aqueous phase of tears, which is vital for maintaining ocular health and comfort. Lipocalin-1 is secreted by various glands, including the lacrimal, lingual, nasal mucosal, tracheobronchial, sweat, mammary, adrenal, prostate, thymus, testis, and corticotrophs of the pituitary gland, highlighting its widespread importance in different physiological processes. Lipocalin-1′s ability to bind and transport hydrophobic molecules, such as bitter substances on the tongue, further emphasizes its multifaceted role in human biology.
